Ash Storage Facility, Aberthaw Power Station
Building and civil engineering works for a five storey steel framed ash processing facility, which produces pulverised fuel ash (PFA) for use in concrete production.
It includes a carbon return system that sends approximately 60,000 tonnes of unburnt fuel back to the power station for re-use.
Works involved;
- 11,000m3 earthworks
- 320 driven piles
- Approximately 300 linear meters of slip-formed concrete drainage channel
- Approximately 350 linear meters of reinforced ground beams
