Dean and Dyball Head Office

Dean and Dyball has been awarded the contract for maintenance works on Bristol's historic Clifton Suspension Bridge.

In February, trustees who look after Brunel's famous bridge, announced plans for a £1 million programme of improvement and maintenance.

The work, starting on July 7, is the first phase of the project and will involve £675,000 being spent on resurfacing the roadway and installing a new drainage system. The contract for the work was awarded to Dean and Dyball Construction Ltd and will be completed by the Bristol office based at Portbury Dock.

The work is essential to prevent corrosion and ensure the long-term safety of the Victorian bridge.

The majority of the works will be carried out during evenings and weekends to minimize inconvenience to motorists, with normal traffic flows being maintained during rush-hour times.
