Ford Materials Recycling Facility and Access Bridge
A state-of-the-art Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) at Ford in the district of Arun, West Sussex
This is the first facility of its type for the county, and employs the latest MRF technologies. As well as sorting the usual inter-mingled recyclates, the facility is also capable of sorting glass, liquid food cartons and aluminium foil.
Capacity at the facility is initially around 40,000 tonnes per year but will increase to 100,000 tonnes with the implementation of a three-shift system.
The MRF incorporates a dedicated education room and viewing platform with the aim of showing and educating the public about what happens at the facility.
