Construction of replacement slipways for the chain ferry that crosses Poole Harbour whilst minimising downtime of the ferry operations.

The project involved constructing cofferdams to both the north and south sides

The project involved constructing cofferdams to both the north and south sides of the haven, allowing the existing slipways to be pumped dry for the installation of new permanent anti-scour sheet piled walls and the replacement of the old slipways.

The new slipways comprised an elaborate jigsaw of over a hundred pre-cast concrete units each weighing up to 25 tons.

Site teams successfully completed the on-site works within a very tight eight week programme, which involved long and unsociable hours overcoming substantial unforeseen work.

The contract was finished within budget to the complete satisfaction of a very happy client.
