Undergraduates

Industrial Placements
This is an opportunity not just to acquire work experience but to find out what it’s really like working in business – one of the very best ways to prepare yourself for your career.
For students of relevant four year sandwich degree courses, we can offer full 12 month placements. We also welcome applications from students seeking shorter periods of work experience.
You will have your own training plan to ensure your time with us is properly structured and put to best use. You will review your experience periodically with your mentor. Students on 12 month placements will gain valuable experience that can be used towards a professional membership on our accredited training schemes.
Sponsorship
If you are planning on going to university to study a full time sandwich degree course, you already know you will need to arrange your industrial placement ‘year out’. If you would prefer to have this confirmed early and receive the benefit of financial support, you can apply for undergraduate sponsorship with us.
A limited number of places are available on this scheme to individuals that demonstrate the required drive, passion and motivation for success. Preference will be given to applicants that have undertaken a period of work experience with us prior to starting university.
We welcome applications at any time. To apply for either of the above opportunities please complete our application form and post it to:

During the early part of each academic year, Dean and Dyball attends careers fairs run by the universities. In 2007 we went to:
- The University of Southampton
- The University of Portsmouth
- Kingston University
- Loughborough University
In November 2007 we also attended the Civils 2007 exhibition at Earl’s Court where we were delighted to meet a large number of students interested in pursuing a career in the construction industry.
We are pleased to offer universities the opportunity to set up site visits for students on construction related degree courses. A typical day will comprise a site tour of a current contract, a presentation about the project by a member of the site management team, and a presentation by another member of staff about Dean and Dyball.
If you are a tutor and would like to invite us to attend your career fair or wish to organize a site visit, please email
